Rock ’n Bobbin

How it works. From first coffee to final bow.

Costuming a musical is a big job. We make our part simple, practical and ready when you need it.

  1. Tell us about your show

Build a quote list and send it, or just tell us the musical and your dates.

  2. Meet for a coffee

Ideally 4 to 6 months out. Bring inspiration, a wish list, student numbers and sizes.

  3. Your quote in two weeks

Costume designs and an itemised quote: every costume, size and fee.

  4. Confirm your booking

Accept the quote with a 50% deposit. We send a measurement template for every student.

  5. We make and deliver

We create and curate your costumes, bag and label them, and deliver to your school.

  6. Return after the show

Back in their bags, back to us within your hire period. Cleaning is part of your quote.

What to expect. The practical bits, sorted.

Hire periods

A standard hire covers your performance week. Main cast costumes can go out on an extended hire so leads rehearse in them.

Packed and labelled

Leads arrive in hanging bags with the character’s name. Ensembles come in bags labelled by group and size.

Measurements and fitting

We send a measurement template for every student. Minor alterations are made by us up to two days before the show.

Back after the show

Return each costume in its bag within the hire period. Cleaning is part of your quote.

Questions. And answers.

How do I check costume availability for our dates?

Add the costumes you like to your quote list and send it with your performance dates. We confirm what is available and suggest alternatives if something is already booked. The earlier you ask, the better your chances.

What if I can’t find the costume I’m looking for?

Tell us anyway. We are a young business and the collection grows all the time. We can design and make costumes for your show, package them up and have them ready for you.

Is laundry and dry cleaning included?

Yes. Cleaning is part of your quote, so after the show you simply put each costume back in its bag and return it.

When is payment due?

A 50% deposit confirms your booking once you accept the quote. The balance, plus a refundable bond, is due when the costumes are delivered. The bond comes back once everything is returned and checked.

Can costumes be altered to fit?

Minor alterations such as elastic and hems are made by us, up to two days before your performance. Larger alterations can be arranged and are quoted separately.

How do the costumes arrive?

Main cast costumes come in hanging bags labelled with the character’s name. Ensemble costumes come in bags labelled by group and size, so handing them out is easy.
